I haven't been very good at keeping up with this lately.  I haven't been very "on plan" with Weight Watchers, either. So I'm going to do a little catching up today.

I have an iPad, Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone and a laptop.  I live a "connected" life .

ZipList is amazing!  There are many food blogs and websites with direct integration to ZipList.  It has meal planning and shopping list integration. I love having all of my recipes in one place.  And they're available when I travel, too.  (Here I come, Vakara!)

Catching Up and Being Honest

I have been terrible about staying with my weight loss journey this summer.  I have a diagnostic test scheduled for Tuesday and after that I will jump back on the Weight Watchers' wagon with vigor.  I want to have lost at least 25 pounds by the time I go to Kansas for Christmas and I know that I can still accomplish that.

On the knitting front: I have finished John's and Cindy's Christmas presents and one present for Ian with two more on the needles. I have one on the needles for Rheonna and one that is complete.  One complete for Kenten and two on the needles.  I have Mom's Christmas present done and her birthday present is less than 40 rows from being complete.  Vakara's birthday present is half done and I have her Christmas present planned.

WW Weigh In May 31, 2012

This week I lost a pound even though as I said in my last post I added lunch and 24oz of Coke Zero.  So now I can really live the WW healthy lifestyle and I don't feel like I'm cheating on weigh in day. And I won't be so grumpy, or endangering my health by not staying hydrated in this central Florida heat and humidity in June, July.......only 2.8 pounds to go until I'm back at my lowest weight since I recommitted to WW on December 4, 2011; and then I can try to move forward again.

GAH!!! I Gained Again!

I gained .2lbs last week and now a 3.6lbs gain this week.  GAH!!!  I need to buckle down and do what I need to do. But on the bright side, I made some changes that needed to be made.  I hadn't been eating anything or drinking anything on weigh in day until I had weighed in at 6 PM.  Also I would further dehydrate myself by working out on my treadmill.  So, this week on weigh in day I ate my normal breakfast and then made sure that I stayed hydrated (48 oz of water with Mio) while I was working in the yard. I knew I was going to show a gain and this was an opportunity to start being reasonable about  my weigh in. It was really crazy since the rest of what I do to lose weight with WW is so sensible. Next week I'm going to eat lunch on weigh in day, too.

Detour Almost Recovered

I was down 2.6lbs tonight.  I still have .8lb to make up to be back where I was before the two weeks of gains.  But I learned, again, that if you want the plan to work, you have to work the plan.
Also I picked up the "Tastier Than Takeout" cookbook.  It has some delectible looking recipies in it.

So I have gotten more than 10 sticks of butter back off and still have more than 3 to go to have recovered from the detour.  I will get there and move on.  I know I said I don't care how long it takes to lose this weight but I really don't have to sabotage myself and make it take longer than it needs to. 

I have booked a 5 day vacation for just me at Sanibel Island.  I have a studio type condo with a small furnished kitchen so I will be able to cook meals and stay on plan while enjoying the beach!!.  It also has a screened balcony.  Woot!  Can't wait!.

There once was a girl named Paula........

There once was a girl named Paula who thought she had this Weight Watchers thing down pat and didn't need to follow all of the rules....Well, I weighed in tonight knowing it was not going to be pleasant. I haven't worked out this week, I haven't weighed or measured my food as I was doing when I was successful. And I wasn't getting in my Good Health Guidelines (healthy oils, fruits and veggies, dairy servings). As a result of all of this I am up 2.8lbs this week. And that added to the .6lbs that I was up last week means that I have to get back OP (on plan) and start losing again. I have to lose at least 21.6 lbs now to get to my highest healthy weight. OK, I'm back to work on this again. And that is almost 14 sticks of butter that are back on me.  YUCK!!  They have to go!

Weekly Weigh In - Woot!

So this afternoon was the first weigh in for April and I'm down another pound for a total of 17 pounds or 68 sticks of butter. Two more pounds and my BMI will be 28 down from 32 when I started on December 4. And I'm now 33.2 pounds from goal.  Woot!Woot!

I Finally Did IT!!!

I promised myself that I would pierce my nose when I made my 10% for Weight Watchers.  I made it last week but couldn't get up the courage to do it. Today, I did it!  AND YES , IT DID HURT A LOT.  But only for a few seconds.  Here is the proof I did it.  I love it and so does my 12 Y/O granddaughter.

64 STICKS OF BUTTER!!!!

‎64 STICKS OF BUTTER!!!! I lost .6lbs this week. Not as big of a loss as I would like but more than 2 sticks of butter and the total so far is 16lbs or 64 STICKS OF BUTTER.

Also today, I was able to walk all three 45 minute segments on the treadmill without taking any pain medication.  The Walmart version of the Osteo BiFlex with MSM is making a world of difference.  Maybe with the loss of a few more pounds I'll be able to start jogging.......

Sod, Tomatoes and Avacados!

On Saturday I bought 16 pieces of sod and started working from where I left off last Fall. Then today I bought 3 Mr Stripey tomato plants and 3 Lemon Boy tomato plants.  I still need some more tomato plants - I need an orange variety and a good red variety.

I also want some peppers, like banana peppers and jalapenos and some spices.  But before I can plant the spices I need some kind of spice planter......

Weigh In and Scale Victories

I was down 2.4 pounds this week for a total of 15.4 pounds.  I made my 10 % loss and I'm overweight, not OBESEI'm also under 140 pounds.  The last time my weight was this low was this time in 2009. I have 34.8 pounds to goal.  My comparison photo has been updated.

Weigh In Day

Woot! Down another pound this week for a total of 13 pounds.  That's more than 25% of what I want to to lose. 

I will be posting an updated picture when I have lost 15 pounds because that will be 10% of my starting weight and I actually hope that I will scoot right past 140 and go into the 130s by the end of this month.

Weight Watchers Weigh In and Beck's Diet Solution Day 3

I  was down .8 pounds at tonight's weigh in for a total of 12 pounds lost.  I only need 3 more to make my 10% lost.

The day 3 exercise for Beck's Diet Solution is to commit to always eat sitting down and not to eat while doing something else like being at the computer or watching TV.  Eating meals sitting down won't be difficult but not having a snack while being at the computer or watching TV will be tough.

Beck.s Diet Solution Day 2

I am working through the Beck's Diet Solution book with a group on the Weight Watchers message boards.  It is day and an interesting group. Supposed to teach us how to think like thin people.  I would like to get back to that mentality.

I was thin all of my life until I started menopause and quit smoking at about the same time.  I went from about 96 pounds to 123.  I joined WW and got down to 105 and felt great.  It wasn't quick for me. It took more that 6 months to lose 18 pounds which is within the guidelines they give you but seemed to take forever.

This time (about the 7th) I started at 155.2 and have lost 11.2 in 3 months. I want to be below 139 for my birthday on April 13 but I am happy each week that I don't post a gain and ecstatic when I post a loss.

Weigh in and New Doctor Appointment

I was down .4 at my weigh in on Wednesday.  I now weigh 144 and am 4 pounds from being out of the OBESE category.  I can't wait to be overweight not OBESE.

Yesterday I had my new patient appointment with my new Primary Care Provider (PCP).  She thinks I'm doing great with my weight loss and thinks that WW is a  good plan.  I am waiting on referral appointments for dermatology and a colonoscopy.  I had xrays done on my left knee and left foot for the pain and also had blood drawn for complete baselines for EVERYTHING!

I'll post more when I know more.

Some Random Facts about me!

I'm very short and I LOVE being short.  4'10 1/2"

My favorite color is PURPLE and always has been. 

I have 4 dogs - 3 Yorkies and a Chihuahua/Pug mix.  They are my kids now that I don't have any human kids at home.

I am very opinionated.

I believe that if you don't vote, don't gripe.

I have a son and a daughter and a granddaughter. The granddaughter is my daughter's daughter.

I own my home.

My favorite candy is NECCO Wafers.

I prefer Milka chocolate, especially the bars with toffee bits in them.

I have been married and divorced more times than I like to admit.  I only regret one of the divorces.

I love Victoria's Secret and have frequent lunch dates with Vicky when I can afford to.

I knit and crochet obsessively.  Mostly I knit. 

I have a small SUV and prefer it or a pickup to a car.

I want a Can Am Spyder.

I have one tattoo.

I'm a decent cook.  I tend to eat clean.  If you don't know what that means, Google it!

Food Diary for Today and Other Notes

I have a daily points plus target of 26.  I typically earn 9PP from activity (I call it arguing with my treadmill).

Breakfast:
Chobani Black Cherry Nonfat Greek Style Yogurt (6oz) w/2tsp canola oil - 6PP
8oz of Light Vanilla Soy Milk - 2PP
8oz Coffee w/2TBS of Coffee Mate Liquid Creamer (Brown Sugar Maple) 2PP

Lunch:
1/2 size of Wendy's Garden Sensations Apple Pecan Salad minus candied pecans - 6PP
24oz Coke Zero (I LOVE this and HATE Diet Coke) - 0PP

Snack: 1 medium banana - 0PP

Dinner:

2.7oz Filet Mignon grilled without spices or butter on my George Foreman grill - 6PP
1 c steamed broccoli and zucchini - 0PP
12oz Vanilla Coke Zero - 0PP

Snack: 5 Riesen Chocolate Caramels - 6PP

Total 28PP

9 Activity Points Plus today.

So I still have 7PP to play with today.

I had 2 Laughing Cow Light wedges before midnite so I ended the day with 5 AP not used.  That will amp up my weight loss.  Yippee!

Scale Victories and NonScale Victories!

I'm down another 1.4 pounds tonight at weigh in.  I got my second 5 pound star and I have less than 5 pounds to reach my 10% weight loss.

I am also in my 10P jeans now. 

I'm down a total of 10.8 pounds and feel so much better.  My goal is to lose 50.2 pounds and to be able to wear a size 4 or maybe even a size 2. 

I CAN do this!!!

Big Non Scale Victory

I walk 30 mins then jog 30 mins and then walk 30 mins. At my current weight that gives me 9AP. I wear a Bodymedia Fit Link and keep track of the mins as a I rack them up on my Droid Bionic. I noticed today during my jogging that the vigorous time had stopped increasing but the moderate time was increasing. I had to increase my jogging speed for it to be in the vigorous range.

Woot! My heart and lungs have become more effecient and I have to work harder to burn calories. Now that's what I call progress!

I may weigh in tomorrow instead of Thursday, my regular weigh in day.  I'll just have to see.

I got to see my brother, Jeff!!!!

Jeff came down from Summerville, SC to go to the NASCAR race at Daytona tomorrow I was so happy to ge to see him.  Here is a pic of the two of us in Mom's front yard in Lake Wales, Florida:

Weighed In Early This Week and What a Surprise!!!

I usually weigh in on Thursdays but my home scale was showing something amazing.  So I weighed last night and lost 3 pounds this week.  I got my 5% star and have actually lost 6% of my starting weight.  I am down a total of 9.4 pounds.  I <3 Weight Watchers!!!!

Weigh-In and Activity Update

So I did my 30 minutes of jogging and 60 minutes of walking on the treadmill today (that's 4 days in a row).

And...I went to my Weight Watchers meeting tonight ( I skipped last week because I hadn't been OP). I posted a .8lb gain which is less than I thought it would be.  I had been pretty much on On Plan this week and of course the increase in activity time and intensity didn't hurt either.  Hope that next week I'll have erase the gain and maybe lost a little more.

Third Day of Jogging

Today was my 3rd day of jogging.  I start by walking for 15 minutes and then jog for at least 10 minutes and try for 15 minutes and then I walk another 5 minutes. Then I take a short break and go at it again. I keep track of time using the timer on my treadmill AND on my BodyMedia Fit Link. It tracks moderate and vigorous activity. The moderate is my walking time and vigorous is jogging.  I love both my treadmill and my BodyMedia Fit Link.

The current plan is to work up to jogging 30 minutes at a stretch with walking on each side of the jogging. Then to incrementally increase the jogging and decrease the walking.

Activity Points Plus Non Scale Victory

I just jogged 32 minutes on my treadmill and walked 60 minutes.  Of course I did that in increments but I have been a couch potato for several years and only got good crosstraining shoes a few weeks ago.  Before I got the new shoes I could only walk on my treadmill or my left knee would hurt BAD. Now I am going to gradually build up to 5 minute walking warmup then 60 minutes jogging and 5 - 10 minute walking cool down.  But today felt great and it earned me 9 APP! <3

A Good Day!

I got my taxes done and submitted today.  I don't expect to get the refund for 3 weeks.  I also put in job applications at two locations....

Weigh-in for Weight Watchers is tomorrow night. I'm a little worried about this one - I haven't been OP (on program) all week.  I really don't have anybody or anything to blame for this.  I'll just have to wait and see.

Didn't Get the Job...

I didn't get the job but I did lose another .8lbs this week for a total of 7. 2lbs since December 2.  Woot!  I think I will be back at 105 again at last.  I am so tired of being FAT!

PC evaluation completed and submitted, CHIPS assessment completed and submitted ( I'm not sure what that is for), and "Webinar" attended.  Just waiting for my interview invitation and orientation - hope I won't be disappointed.

Life Goes On.....

Brighthouse Networks will be here tomorrow morning to move the cable modem/router and the phone connection from the guest room to my office/Fiber Arts Studio.  I hope to be working from home soon. The PC has to have a wired internet connection and have a CD burner. I have to watch a "webinar" and submit an evaluation of my PC.

Oh, and I have to find my Social Security card.

Training is 7 weeks long and is done at a training center and then I would work from home.  Oh, how I hope this goes well!!!!

Random updates....

The correct headboard for the bed in my guest room was delivered on Tuesday and they took the other one away.  Love the room - it is really coming together.  

My new stove and range hood microwave were delivered and installed. The electrician that installed the microwave told me what needs to be done so that stove can be moved completely against the wall and also how to completely free up 2 outlets that have special block thingies plugged into them and gave me an estimate and hasn't called to schedule an appointment....think I'll call another electrician <3

My Deni 2 quart digital pressure cooker came today.  Woot.  Brown rice and other delectables here I come!

Seventh Weight Watchers Weighin!

I had my seventh weighin and lost 1.6lbs this week for a total of 6.4lbs.  I got my first 5lb star and I'm under 150.  So 7 straight weeks of losses.  Woot!

Keeping the Weight Loss Going and Other Updates

I have had 6 weigh ins since I recommitted to Weight Watchers and have had a loss at each one.  I am psyched! A couple of them have been very small but still losses.  I use my George Foreman grill almost everyday and the nonstick coating is coming off.  My son got it for me for Christmas several years ago and I really love it.  It is so quick to grill fish, meat or veggies.  I bought one that is a little bigger and has removable grill plates for easier cleaning.  I also ordered a 2 quart pressure digital pressure cooker.

On Tuesday my new ceramic cooktop stove and small upright freezer will be delivered.  The stove has 2 ovens and the smaller one also works as toaster.

I started 2 crocheted afghans.  One is a scrap afghan and the other is fushia squares with a multicolored border.

Oh, I had the guest room furniture delivered on Wednesday and have the guest all set up except for some pictures on the walls.  It looks nice.  Now all I have to do is find other homes for all of the junk that used to be stored in that room, haha!
