WooHoo! I had to edit my wishlist today.

I got my MP3 player today. I chose the Creative Labs Zen 4GB because it is small and extendable through the use of SD cards. The sound quality is great and the Zen is easy to use.

Bob and I are spending a quiet evening at home for this New Year's Eve. I am knitting and surfing the web.

I added the badge and banner (with Caroline's blessing, she sent me the logo) for the Friends of Knit 'n Knibble group on Ravelry. Now we are just as fancy as the other ones. Thanks, Caroline.

Bob and I are spending a quiet eveing at home for this New Year's Eve. I am just knitting and surfing the web.

Well, that is all for this year, see ya next year......

Lucy Bag #1 Status

I started my first Lucy Bag on Christmas Eve in the evening and finished knitting it and kitchenering the straps this evening. I still have to weave in a few ends and felt it.

I bought 4 skeins of Lion Brand Fisherman's Wool on clearance at Michael's a couple of years ago because I had seen the pattern on the Lion Brand web site. Their site said that it required 2 skeins of the Fisherman's Wool. Little did I know that I would only need a little bit of the second skein. Now I have enough for 2 more. I guess I will make 2 more for gifts, maybe Christmas presents for next year.

Little by little I am getting all my stuff into Ravelry. GEEZ! I knew I had a big stash and a bunch of WIPs but now I am face-to-face with it all. I think I will put some of the yarn on eBay once I get it all entered into Ravelry. I love that site. I have been going through the "For the Love of Ravelry" forum and looking at all the planned enhancements. For a site that is beta it is beyond great! Casey, Jess and all of your volunteers: that is one helluva site.

Most of the enhancements that I would want are already in the planning stages.

I have to go back to work on Wednesday and I would really rather be retired. Contrary to what my mom says, I think I could find plenty to keep me busy - knitting, dogs, yard, reading.....

More tomorrow!

One of my dogs is pregnant and other news!

I am going to have grandpuppies!!. One of my Yorkies is pregnant. Looks like they are due the last week in January or the first week of February. My daughter and granddaughter are excited because they want one.

Thursday I went to my best friend's house to show her how to use Ravelry. We took pictures and setup a blog for her. Then we went to Knit 'N Knibble, our LYS. I bought her skein of the Noro sock yarn and we knitted for a couple of hours. One of other gals said that she would like me to come to her house and show her some of the tricks of the trade for Ravelry.

Of course I couldn't get out of Knit 'N Knibble without buying more yarn for myself. But at least it came from the sale bins.

I got my toes done today after more than 3 months. I usually keep them done but life just got in the way. They look really cool, instead of a regular French manicure I have red and silver stripes on them.

If you have a Ravelry account take a look at my page there. I uploaded a bunch of pictures today.

TTFN!

I am a list maker!

I am now enjoying my 11 day break. I went to the LARKS gathering this morning at Barnes and Nobles. On Wednesday Shirley is going to show us how to knit with beads. It will be fun.

I will catalog more yarn and projects on Ravelry. I can't get enough of that site. I have been looking for something like that for years. If you haven't signed up yet, you should.

I have added a wishlist here so that my family and friends know what I am drooling over but don't have yet and a list of my favorite knitalongs, blogs, podcasts and web sites. And also a list of the Yahoo Groups that I belong to. I need to add one for my favorite TV shows, maybe later this weekend.

I am working on the plans for my granddaughter's visit this summer. A whole week. I have promised her knitting lessons at my LYS, Knit 'N Knibble, a day at DisneyWorld, swimming in my pool and playing with the puppies.

They aren't really puppies. I have 5 Yorkshire Terriers. I alternate between calling them puppies and "my kids". I will post photos of them later.

Well, I am off to Ravelry.......

Just a Little News.

Tomorrow is my last work day for the year. I am really looking forward to 11 days off. I have some knitting that I need to get done for a class that I will be taking. And I want to see if I can get the rest of my yarn cataloged in Ravelry.

Having my yarn cataloged will let me see what I can use for charity and what I need to put up sale on eBay.

Also I am going to set aside some for my granddaughter, Vakara, when she comes to visit us this summer. I have promised her private lessons at Knit 'N Knibble, my LYS.

Well it is late, and I have to get up early, so this is all for tonight.

Home Again, Home Again!

I am glad to be home again. It was warmer here in Florida when we landed in Tampa, but it was only 47 degrees. And it is supposed to be 35 degrees overnight.

I am exhausted but happy. My daughter has her degree and I got to see her receive it. Now she is contemplating her Master's degree.

I did get some knitting done on the trip. I finished the cotton Baby Blocks afghan I had started at the beginning of the week. And I started a Baby Surprise Jacket for couple at work. That was all I could work in.

I skipped the Central Florida Stitches group tonight. As much as I wanted to go, I was just too tired to go.

I start my new schedule tomorrow - 7AM to 4PM. I should be able to avoid the worst of the traffic both ways. Less stress, more time with my husband and dogs, and, more time for knitting!

Graduation Is Over. Life goes on.

The graduation was great and fairly short. Then we all went out for dinner. Now Mom and I are packing for the flight back to Florida. Ian will be flying back with us.

I will be able to go to Black and Brew for a little Stitchin' n Bitchin'. I have missed my husband, dogs and house. And I will be able to get some more of my stash and projects uploaded to Ravelry. I now have an avatar on Ravelry and she knits! Meez.com is fun, free and easy.

I have done a lot of knitting on my cotton Baby Blocks afghan and started a Baby Surprise Jacket for a couple at work expecting their first baby.

I also have been looking at the Sony Digital Reader. I can load all my downloaded knitting patterns and not have to print copies all the time. A girl can dream can't she?

Well, time to pack and get a little shut eye.

We're Not In Florida Anymore, Toto!!!

I flew to Kansas City on Friday with my Mom. We're out here to see my daughter, Kenten, graduate from Baker University tomorrow.

Of course, I couldn't fly without my knitting. I brought my current Baby Blocks afghan from Knitting Along with Debbie Macomber, a Pi shawl, yarn for a second Pi shawl and yarn for a newborn size Baby Surprise Jacket. I started the BSJ today and am almost half way on the afghan. I always bring more than I think I will do. You never know what will happen on a trip.

My daughter looks great and my granddaughter is more than grand. We had a four generation photo taken today. I will post it when I get it.

Got to get some rest now.

PS

I have discovered something I have to have. It is a digital book reader.

I want one that can read multiple formats and play music. I need to be able to take my knitting patterns that are in pdf and I want to be able to highlight them and make annotations in the margins. Guess I will be doing some research using one of my "bestus friends", Google.

Making Progress

I LOVE Ravelry. It is helping me accomplish something I have wanted to do for a long time. I have about 10% of my stash cataloged and most of my books.

I have only a few my WIPs posted. I have to dig them out in some cases. Slow but, sure. I love the pictures.

At present I have one of my Pi Shawls, two baby blocks afghans and the Cavendish wrap listed. I have to get some photos up.

Time to get to bed. Five AM always sneaks up on me.

PS,

I got to talk to my daughter and granddaughter in Kansas City and my son in Winter Haven tonight. I feel loved!!!!

Ravelry!

Wow! I got my Ravelry.com invitation last Tuesday. I put my name on the waiting list on November 6th. Twenty-two days didn't seem too bad after hearing tales of 2 to 3 months.

I spent 2 hours cataloging my yarn today and have only scratched the surface. I can only do that on the weekends. During the week I will add books, WIPs, and projects to the queue.

I started the "Friends of Knit 'n Knibble" group/forum on Ravelry. This is a group for my LYS and all the people who work, shop, learn and knit there.

Ravelry will help me to organize my yarn, books, patterns and projects (current and future).
